Caldwell Companies was presented the Business Partnership – Academic Impact Award at the recent Cy Fair ISD VIPS Appreciation Luncheon held at the Berry Center. This is an event where the district recognizes both Business Partners and groups and individuals who volunteer at the many schools within CFISD. Part of the recognition is for District Award Winners and State Award Winners for their involvement within the different schools and we were honored that Holbrook Elementary had nominated Caldwell Companies for the award. This nomination was based on the many hours that our associates volunteer to support the students and staff of Hollbrook Elementary, which is the school that Caldwell has adopted since 2012. Some of the things that Caldwell Companies does to support Hollbrook include:
- Backpack Food Deliveries from Cy Hope
- Supporting the Holiday Market by supplying items and helping staff the store
- Christmas presents for families in need
- Mentoring students
- Providing food and treats for the staff
- Financial support for equipment purchases, ect.
Holbrook Elementary also nominated another group for an award and they not only received a district award, they received a state award! That program is the Holbrook Elementary Watch D.O.G.S. Program. DOGS stands for "Dads Of Good Students" and it was started last year with the intent of getting Dads more involved at the school by mentoring, monitoring the halls and helping teachers. The program has been very successful - last school year there was only one dad who came to volunteer and this year they had 65 Dads involved! This is a great program where dads have gotten excited about being involoved with the children and they hope to grow it even larger next year.
Caldwell Companies is blessed by the relationship we have with the students, teachers and faculty at Holbrook Elementary and look forward to continuing this partnership in the future.
