Caldwell Companies began in June of 1990 as Caldwell Nyberg Interests, Inc. Partners John Nyberg and Fred Caldwell began their business focusing on industrial brokerage. When Nyberg left the partnership, the company expanded into land brokerage and started doing business as CNI. The company prospered through the mid 1990's and experienced a very customer-driven expansion: as customers formed relationships with Fred Caldwell and his team, they soon called on CNI to become involved in real estate transactions that were not centered on industrial or land properties. Soon the company grew to include office brokerage, investment services and residential development with the development of Wincrest Falls.
In 1997 Fred Caldwell teamed up with partner Chuck Watson to form Caldwell Watson Real Estate Group. The firm experienced record growth most notably in Northwest Houston, where it firmly established a foothold as the sector's most successful commercial real estate company. As Caldwell Watson expanded its reach throughout Houston and Texas, it also expanded services to include retail brokerage and commercial development. And the success of its residential development, Rock Creek, put Caldwell Watson firmly on the list of Houston's most successful residential developers.
Caldwell Companies is now privately owned by Fred Caldwell. Since our humble beginnings in the early 1990's, we have grown steadily and now serve the commercial real estate needs of both corporations and private equity investors. Caldwell Companies' success is most often attributed to the firm's team of high-integrity individuals who work to make relationships last. Thanks to those long standing relationships with our internal and external customers, we are excited to be celebrating our 25th year in business!
Since our inception we have been proud to be included in the Houston Business Journal's "Best Places to Work". We are now also a fixture on the "Largest Area Commercial Real Estate Companies" and "Largest Area Property Management Companies" lists published by the HBJ each year.
