Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced and highly capable Superintendent to lead our construction projects. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating various construction activities, ensuring the successful completion of projects within established timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing large-scale projects.
Responsibilities
- Project Oversight:
- Provide overall supervision and guidance for multiple construction projects.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop and execute project plans.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage on-site construction teams, including superintendents, foremen, and field staff.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and collaboration.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and enforce safety protocols.
- Quality Assurance:
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure construction standards are met.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor work quality and compliance.
- Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including owners, architects, and subcontractors.
- Communicate project progress, challenges, and resolutions to senior management.
- Resource Management:
- Oversee the allocation and management of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Ensure efficient use of resources and adjust plans as needed.
- Schedule Management:
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring adherence to timelines.
- Coordinate with project managers to address any schedule deviations.
- Problem Resolution:
- Address and resolve construction-related issues promptly and efficiently.
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential challenges during the construction process.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination:
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Manage relationships with subcontractors and address any performance issues.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Superintendent or in a similar high-level construction management role.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with construction management software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- OSHA certification.
- Experience with large-scale commercial or residential construction projects.
- Proficient in MS Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, Procore, Bluebeam.
