Job Summary

The Payroll Clerk will process weekly payroll and maintain employee time records. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • On-boarding – This includes but is not limited to, offer letters, background checks, drug screening, I9 verification, and any other new hire paperwork.  The new hire process will also include medical benefits enrollment and 401K
  • Off-boarding Associates including termination notification for payroll, cobra insurance and other unemployment verification required
  • Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information. Processing payroll, coordinating with Business Unit Leader on approval of hours, and project cost allocation
  • Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions
  • Reconciles payroll and will create project bill backs
  • Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge
  • Records and processes federal and state payroll tax deposit such as quarterly and annually; and Quarterly Workers Comp reporting
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Project billing

 

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software, Paylocity
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

 

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Two years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping with at least six months of experience in payroll preferred
