The fabric of Caldwell Companies is to give back to the communities that we live, work, and play in. For over 30 years, we have worked with countless charities and organizations because we believe in serving for a higher purpose. A foundation very close to our hearts is the Lone Star College Foundation that was founded in 1991. The Foundation supports Lone Star College – which is the largest institution of higher education in the Houston area and one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the nation. Our CEO and founder, Fred Caldwell serves on the Board of Directors for this wonderful foundation, and we are honored to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. Each year, donations received by the Foundation are presented to students as an endowment. Below are a few excerpts from students who received an endowment from Caldwell Companies.

“I am writing to convey my deepest appreciation for your generosity and hospitality in awarding me the Caldwell Companies Endowment. I am grateful and thrilled to be chosen for this honor.

I have embarked on this journey of seeking a higher education and will continue to strive every day until my goals become realities. I am trying to set a positive example in which my brothers can follow when they decide on if they wish to pursue a higher education.

I was recipient of this award my past semester and my ambition and passion to become the first in my family to earn a degree is just as strong as ever. I am pursuing a degree in Business Management with a minor in Marketing, with the hopes of one day starting up a business of my own. I have chosen to seek my education in business because I hold many traits that will help me strive in that field. One of these traits is my genuine, heart-felt, passion of communicating with others which is a necessary tool in the business world.

Receiving the Caldwell Companies Endowment scholarship allows me to continue my journey focusing on school and without concerns of financial burdens. Your generosity serves as a motivation to succeed so that one day I may also help other students as you have decided to help me. Once again, I am truly grateful for this opportunity you have given me to continue school.”
