Fred Caldwell is the President and CEO of Caldwell Companies, a fully integrated residential and commercial real estate firm founded in 1990 and based in Houston, Cypress, The Woodlands and College Station.  

Today, the firm serves as a holding company for a family of related companies that develop planned residential for sale and rental communities along with associated commercial buildings. Related service firms provide asset management, leasing and transactional services for land and commercial properties. The firm also participates in various private equity investments.

Caldwell’s planned communities include Towne Lake, Willowcreek Ranch, The Highlands, Chambers Creek, Bridal Creek, Copper Bend, Del Webb Sweetgrass, Mission Ranch and Rock Creek. Rental brands include Asher and Cadence Communities.   

Fred serves on several foundations and Texas A&M University boards as well as serving on the JH Ranch International and Everlasting Adventures boards.

Fred is author of “Flying Your Business, Leadership Lessons from the Cockpit.”

Fred is a graduate of Texas A&M University receiving a degree in accounting and a master’s degree in finance while playing football.  He was recognized in 2018 as a Distinguished Alumni of Mays Business School. 

Fred and his wife, Susan, have been married for over 38 years and have two children; Amanda Grace, and Lindsey married to Michael McConathy.
